BARRE CLASSES

BOOK A CLASS NOW

We offer a few different options of Barre Classes, so you can pick the class that fits your experience to help you reach your goals. Using both the ballet barre and Pilates mats, these classes will help build lean muscle with fluid and isometric movements. If you have more questions about this type of toning class, call or email the studio.

Beginner Barre:

barre class for athletesGreat for students who want to get a sense of Barre and see if it’s right for them. This entry-level class has a slower pace with the same muscle-building burn that will keep you coming back for more. Check out our Events tab to look for upcoming Beginner Barre Workshops! We hold them once a month. But, please remember, you are welcome to jump into any regular Barre class even if it’s your first time. We teach to all levels, so the instructor will offer different ways for beginners to modify the class if they choose.

This class is offered monthly, at a variety of times. Please check out our events page or Facebook Event tab for the next upcoming class!

Barre:

Barre is a full-body workout that fuses elements of ballet, Pilates, strength training, and stretching. We use small, isometric repetitions that work your muscles to fatigue. The movements are low impact and will tone and sculpt your body by building lean muscle. We offer beginner classes for those of you just getting a feel for the practice.

Barre Express:

The same Barre you read about above, except it’s only 30 minutes! We promise a full-body workout in that time. You’ll hit every major muscle group, get your heart rate up, and have some fun, in this shorter Barre Class.

Cardio Barre:

The same Barre class you’ve grown to love turned up a notch. We’ll get your heart rate up by increasing the tempo and repetitions. Cardio Barre is a full-body workout that incorporates your own body weight and Pilates props.

I absolutely love Barre at H2L Studio because it’s a great way to add a total body workout to my busy weekly schedule. I really enjoy how simple the exercises are but by adding a few variations like raising your heels, you can feel the burn right away! So glad we have a studio like this in the Harrisburg area!

Barre FAQ

barre classesDo I need ballet shoes?
No, you can wear socks or go barefoot. We do have studio socks for sale, that offer a little extra grip that are a good idea to purchase… but any socks will do!

I’ve never been to Barre, can I handle it?
Yes! We offer modifications as much as we can for beginners or advanced clients. Talk to your instructor before class to discuss any concerns. The beauty of barre is you can do as much as you can handle with the options offered along the way.

How much does it cost?
Barre falls under the Group Class Packages. This means your first class is free. After that, you can get a single class for $15, a 5-pack of classes for $60 and a 10-pack for $110. The more you buy, the lower the price. Monthly Unlimited Members can enjoy Barre Classes and any other Group Fitness Class for just $105 a month. Students you are invited to enjoy class for just $10 each time. The packages you buy are good for a year, so you can use them when it works for you. The Monthly Unlimited Rate is an auto-renewing monthly membership but you can cancel at any time by emailing us.

Why do my legs shake every class? Is that normal?
100%, yes. It would be weirder if your legs didn’t shake! We are working to fatigue the muscle… we want to work it to exhaustion with those small movements to help build long muscles.  That little quivering is normal and encouraged, remember to always take breaks when you have to and focus on your breathing to help you!

Can we have Private Events in the Barre room?
You got it! We love hosting parties at the barre! Everything from employee nights, girl’s nights out, church groups, bachelorette parties, and bridesmaids bonding time. Hanging at the Barre is the newest, coolest activity in the Harrisburg area.. we’re pretty sure :).

What do I need to bring to my class?
Wear something comfortable you can move in and bring a water bottle. We do have a water cooler in the studio if you forget and need a sip. We have mats, weights, bands and towels but you are welcome to bring your own. We use Pilates Mats for our Barre Classes, which are a little thicker than a yoga mat, you are welcome to ours or you may bring your own. Pilates or Yoga, whichever mat you have and want to use is fine by us. We do this in bare feet or with socks, no sneakers are required in this room.
