Meet Adrienne

pilates classesThe Facts: Adrienne McCaskey teaches Pilates and Barre at H2L. She holds a comprehensive certification for Pilates mat and apparatus from Power Pilates. Adrienne teaches the Barre Body® method and as a Founder and Teacher Trainer, she travels the country to certify dance and fitness instructors.

Her History: Adrienne is a classically trained dancer who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Muhlenberg College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and Business Administration. Adrienne worked in Washington, DC in management and healthcare consulting for 10 years, most recently with Deloitte Consulting LLP. Her dance background and love of movement attracted her to Pilates. She taught for six years at Studio Body Logic®, Northern Virginia’s first and premier Authentic Pilates studio, where she worked under the direction of Karen Garcia who is one of a handful of second generation Pilates instructors in the world. Adrienne returned to Central Pennsylvania with her husband Matt to be closer to her family and now enjoys spending much of her free time with her young son William.

What to Expect: Adrienne is dedicated to sharing the amazing power of the authentic Pilates system of body conditioning and the safe, dance-based Barre Body® method with her students in a challenging, fun and encouraging atmosphere.

Meet Deborah

Pilates instructor

The Facts: Deborah Kearns teaches Pilates, Yoga, and Cycling classes at H2L and as a Reiki Master Practitioner, also offers private Reiki sessions. She is certified through Peak Pilates (mat and equipment), a 200RYT with Yoga Fit,  a Schwinn Cycling Instructor,and has received Reiki training locally with Rickie Meryl Freedman, and in New York City and Asheville, NC with Allison Hayes.

Her History: A former Adjunct Professor of Humanities, Deborah gravitated towards Pilates, Yoga, Reiki and Cycling to help her lead a healthier and happier life. A perpetual student, Deborah enjoys learning something new from each client and each class she teaches at H2L. When not at the studio Deborah loves being with her husband Mark, her children Courtney and Kyle, her dog Boomer, her cat Tess, and also loves traveling, writing, and reading.
What to Expect: During Deborah’s classes you can expect her to remind you that everything you are doing is just a practice, not a perfect, and that giggling is highly encouraged.

 Meet Jennifer

Mechanicsburg StudioThe Facts: Jen Buono teaches Pilates here at H2L Studio. She is a licensed Physical Therapist and obtained her full Pilates certification through Integrated Balance, LLC.

Her History: Jen graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2001 with a Masters in Physical Therapy and then in 2012 obtained her Doctorate from the University of Kentucky. She has many years of experience treating a variety of diagnoses ranging from neurological conditions to general orthopedics.

Her love of anatomy and movement drove her to pursue Pilates as another tool to help her clients during rehabilitation. She has been teaching Pilates since 2008 and obtained her full Pilates certification through Integrated Balance, LLC. She has seen firsthand the many benefits of the Pilates Method and takes a holistic approach to teaching. When she is not teaching or in the clinic she is spending time with her husband and two kids.

What to Expect: During Jen’s classes, you can expect to move your body and challenge your core with a focus on alignment and the fundamentals of each movement.

 Meet KARA

Kara is PMA certified The Facts: Kara Nies teaches Pilates classes at H2L Studio.  She’s Power Pilates trained in all equipment, PMA certified and has been teaching since 2007. She loves seeing her beginner students evolve into hardworking Pilates enthusiast. 

Her History: She graduated from the Art Institute with a degree in Interior Design and has a successful daytime position with Farinelli Construction.  Her love of creativity started at a young age in the dance studio, where she took classical ballet, tap and competitive jazz for over 20 years. The next natural step in life was to start taking Pilates to stay fit. She fell in love with the method and hasn’t stopped since.  When she isn’t designing or teaching, she’s spending time with her husband and children, enjoying good food, the love of their dogs and competitive shooting.
 
What to Expect: During Kara’s class, you can expect to hear the music of your choice while she motivates you to reach a little longer, sit a little taller and challenge yourself to push a little further.Favorite Quote: If your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough.
