Best Pre and Post Workout Snacks

Have you ever felt as though you couldn’t make it through a workout unless you ate something?  Or have you yet to find the perfect post-workout snack that will benefit you most?  You don’t want to ruin your workout with chips or pancakes that will make you feel tired and sick afterwords.  

Of course I always get hungry right before a workout…but what should I eat??

Here’s a few ideas for pre and post workout snacks to keep you going and make you feel great before, during and after.

Fruity Yogurt Parfait
Enjoy half a cup of non-fat yogurt, whole grain cereal and your favorite fruit.

Colorful Protein Shake
Add a scoop of your favorite protein powder, half a cup of ice and one cup of frozen berries to a blender and shake it up!

PB & A
Serve up a sliced apple with two tablespoons of peanut butter for an easy treat.

PB & B
Pretty much any fruit you can eat with peanut butter is a good idea, try a banana!

On the Go
Simply grab a protein or snack bar with natural ingredients like Luna and Larabars, or try Two Moms in the Raw!

Breakfast Bite
Need a bit of breakfast before or after your workout? Try a veggie omelet.

Chocolate Lover
For all of you chocolate lovers, have an 8 oz. glass of non-fat chocolate milk!

Eggs on Toast
It’s as simple as that! Boil an egg, slice it up and eat on toast

As you can see there are many simple and delicious options for any time of day or any workout to provide you with protein, carbs and energy.  Now you are free to work hard and recover fast!
